What about space? Do more than two children share a bedroom? How about the roof and ceilings? Exposed wiring? Plumbing? Any standing water? A clean, constant water source? Heat? Insulation? You get the idea. Substandard? Yes? Then Habitat For Humanity might be for YOU. In order to qualify for Garrett County Habitat for Humanity, YOU MUST... Be able to pay a mortgage payment, taxes, insurance, and all utilities without going over 1/2 of your monthly "take home" income. Have lived or worked in Garrett County for at least one year. Currently live in substandard housing conditions. Be willing to complete 250 "Sweat Equity" hours per adult in your immediate family on various projects and on the completion of your own home.
